Tuesday 7 June started with a coaching staff meeting, followed by 6 workshops. Today coaches identify tactical training objectives based on last night’s game analysis, but also prepare for injury screening of the players. Thirdly the Football Conditioning Training for last night’s substitute players is being prepared.
Next is the team tactical and individual analysis, both at team and individual level. Coaches cut clips and develop a video presentation for the team meeting on Friday. During the 5th workshop coaches develop a recovery training for last night’s starting XI. The 6th workshop is to discuss the Football Rehab Model which will be applied in this training week.
During the 2nd part of the morning practicals with the Feyenoord Under 19 players take place. Coaches screen the players on possible injuries and deliver the Football Conditioning Training, Recovery Training first XI and Football Rehab Training.
Top coach Dick Advocaat is spending time with us today. Coaches get the opportunity to ask questions. Advocaat is very open in his answers.
Also during this session the first copy of The Official Guide to Coaching Youth Football is being presented to Advocaat by author Bert van Lingen. Van Lingen explains the ins and outs of the book and especially the principles of the football learning process of players ages 6-19.
During the afternoon the practicals are being evaluated by all coaches.
At the end of the day the programme finishes with Raymond Verheijen’s in-depth presentation on “Football Braining: the principles of coaching unconscious thinking”. Raymond has theorized his ‘art of coach education’ (application) and defined the principles (philosophy) he uses to coach and educate the unconscious of coaches. The coaches are expected to apply these Football Braining principles themselves during all of this week’s workshops and practicals.
